Here are the verses that people like to use to claim that homosexuality is a sin in Islam.
"And [We had sent] Lut when he said to his people, "Do you commit such immorality as no one has preceded you with from among the worlds?" (Quran 7:80)
"Indeed, you approach men and obstruct the road and commit in your meetings [every] evil." (Quran 29:29)
If you look at the verses supposedly against homosexuality in the historical context, it is about adultery/fornication and rape. They cornered and fornicated with travelers (who happened to be men, as most travelers were) and people other than their wives. They committed unlawful sexual intercourse by force.
Hospitality rules were so important in that era, and the people of Lut transgressed them through rampant murder, robbery, adultery, and rape. In particular, male-on-male rape. Their city was pretty much the absolute most terrible city in the worlds because of this.
It wasn't homosexuality, but adultery, fornication, and rape that was their downfall.
Besides, being gay isn't just about sex. We go to work, pay our taxes, shop for groceries, watch movies, practice our faith, give charity, fall in love, have families, feel emotions, live our lives just like straight people. We just happen to do all that with a devoted partner of the same gender.

There are more verses than that that explicitly condemn homosexuality, but you would rather be selective and add more levels on the victim hierarchy for yourself. Sure.
